We are proud to be the first udon restaurant in Vancouver. Our noodle recipe is passed down from our chef's family. Using locally sourced ingredients, we hope to serve an incredible udon experience to our patrons. We are currently hiring a full-time Cook for our kitchen, who will bring their culinary passion to support Motonobu Udon.

Work Location: 3501 E Hastings Street, Vancouver, BC V5K 0E5

Position Title: Cook

Terms of Employment: Full-time, Permanent

Estimated Starting Date: As soon as possible

Position available: 1

Wage: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour (depending on experience)

Work Hours: 30-40 hours per week

Benefit: 4% vacation pay & Tips

 

Job Duties:

  • Prepare Udon noodle and ingredients, and cook toppings including EbiTen, Niku, and Wakame to our fusion dishes of carbonara and spicy tantan according to recipe
  • Adjust dishes for customer with dietary restrictions as needed
  • Work with Chef to oversee kitchen operations and supervise kitchen helper to ensure the quality and efficiency of meal preparation
  • Maintain inventory and records of food, ensuring freshness of food and discarding out-of-date items as necessary
  • Clean workstations before and after use, and follow health and safety regulations from Motonobu Udon and local authorities
  • Assist chef to plan seasonal menu and dish creation when instructed 
  • Assist chef to hire and train staff when asked

Qualification:

  • Completion of secondary school is required
  • Completion of a three-year apprenticeship program for cooks OR completion of college or other program in culinary arts or food safety OR 2+ year of commercial cooking experience is required
  • Teamwork skill are required
  • Working English is required
  • Ability to time-manage and work under pressure is required
