Work Location: Various locations across Fraser Valley and Lower Mainland

Job Title: Tile setter (NOC 73101)

Terms of Employment: 30-40 hours per week, Full-time/Permanent

Start Date: As soon as possible

Wage: $27.00 - $30.00 per hour (Depending on Experience)

No of Positions: 6

Job Duties:

• Prepare the surface to be covered by measuring it and marking it.
• Prepare tile plans and sketches.
• Using a hand trowel, mix, apply, and spread mortar, grout, asphalt, glue, or other adhesives.
• Pack grout into tile joints and remove excess grout.
• Set tiles in place and apply pressure to secure them to the base.
• Use levels, squares, and straightedges to align and straighten tile.
• Using hand and power cutting equipment, cut and fit tiles around obstructions and holes.
• Install tile strips.
• Marble and granite cutting, polishing, and installation.
• Lay and position mosaic tiles to create attractive wall, mural, and floor patterns.
• Take out and replace any broken or damaged tiles.
• May prepare cost estimates and orders.

SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

Education: Completion of High School is required.

Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as tile setter or in relevant field, or a completion of a  3-4 years apprenticeship program

Language: English

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Attention to details, physically demanding, Hand-eye co-ordination, Bending, Crouching, Kneeling.
