Job description:

Safina Textiles has been part of the used clothing market since 2018. We collect old clothes, sort them into categories and grade them before packaging. Our clothes find new homes in Africa, Asia - India, and other countries, serving a sustainable future by repurposing some even into cleaning rags.

Position Title: Clothing Buyer (NOC: 62101)

Number of Positions: 1

Term of Employment: Permanent, Full-Time - 35 hours/week

Location of Work: 930 Lakefront Promenade, Mississauga, ON L5E 2C4

Wage: $27.10 per hour

Language Requirement: English

Responsibilities

Tasks

●      Establish and maintain contact with suppliers

●      Maintain adequate stock levels

●      Negotiate prices, discounts, credit terms and transportation arrangements with suppliers

●      Oversee distribution of merchandise to outlets

●      Provide customer service

●      Review requirements of establishment and determine quantity and type of merchandise to purchase

●      Select and purchase merchandise for resale

●      Study market reports, trade periodicals and sales promotion materials and visit trade shows, showrooms, factories and product design events

Qualifications:

●      High school graduation certificate is a must.

●      A minimum of 2 years of experience in retail or wholesale establishments is essential.

●      At least 1 year of experience in international market dealings is required.
