Salary:  $34.94 per hour (wages in accordance with collective agreement)

Hours:  37.5 hours per week

Location of Work: 147 Elder Street, Toronto, Ontario

Job Description:

• Carrying out clinical care consistent with the Careplan and updating as required in consultation with the Charge Nurse
• Supporting residents’ independence, dignity, social, emotional and cultural well-being
• Supporting 147 Elder’s REST Philosophy of Care, mission, vision and value statement and helping develop and operationalize the department goals
• Providing elements of clinical care required by the residents which complements the scope of practice of the Personal Support Worker (PSW)
• Working as a team member with the PSW’s, Cook, Recreationists, Environmental Care workers and respects, maintains and contributes to the therapeutic environment
• Working to support the Charge Nurse in the care of the residents
• Being available and guiding the front line, multidisciplinary team as needed to maintaining excellence in residents’ well being
• Anticipating and managing complex, unstable and changing clinical situations
• Reporting changes in health status or unusual occurrence to the Charge Nurse and/or Nurse Supervisor and NP if available

Job Requirements:

• One year of experience
• Completion of a university, college or other approved nursing program
