ZAKO Development is looking for an experienced construction site manager. We are a full-service Licensed Residential Builder and developer since 2016 in beautiful British Columbia. For our current and upcoming construction projects, we are looking for an experienced construction site manager to join our team.  We are looking for someone who is reliable, accountable, driven, respectful and a team player. Please check out our website to find more about our projects!

 

Start date: ASAP

Pay rate: $37/hrs.

Hours per week: 40

Locations: Coquitlam, BC (primary), West Vancouver, BC (secondary)

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate construction projects from start to finish according to schedule, specifications and budget.
  • Prepare and submit construction project budget estimates.
  • Plan and prepare construction schedules and milestones and monitor progress against established schedules.
  • Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Develop and implement quality control programs.
  • Represent company on matters such as business services and union contracts negotiation.
  • Prepare progress reports and issue progress schedules to clients.
  • Direct the purchase of building materials and land acquisitions.
  • Hire and supervise the activities of subcontractors and subordinate staff.
  • Budgetary responsibility: $4,000,001 - $8,000,000

 

Job requirements:

 

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related disciplines (professional engineering designation is not mandatory)
  • At least 5 years of experience in the construction industry including supervisory or managerial roles.
  • Project management experience is an asset.
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & windows
  • Excellent people skills with demonstrated ability to increase teamwork and achieve a result.
  • Strong leadership and teamwork attributes.
  • Ability to supervise team of 11-15 (contractors, sub-contractors, and employees).
  • Language of work: English
  • First Aid and CPR certificates 
  • Personal suitablity: Efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral communication, flexiblity, judgment, organizaed, team player, values and ethics
  • Own tools/equipment: Hard hat, steel-toed safety boots, cellphone
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: fast-paced environment, work under pressure, tight deadlines, attention to detail, combination of sitting, standing, walking, large caseload, overtime required.
