Joy Farm Market is a local store located in the heart of uptown New Westminster. We carry a variety of fresh organic produce, as well as a good selection of essential products, at an affordable price. Joy Farm Market is proudly locally owned, and we are currently looking for a Head Cashier to join our team, who will be in charge of overseeing and synchronizing the activities of our cashiers and retail staff.

Position Title: Head Cashier

Terms of Employment: Full-time, Permanent

Estimated Starting Date: As soon as possible

Position Available: 1

Wage: $22.60 to $23.60 per hour (Depending on Working Experience)

Work Hours: 30 hours per week

Benefit: 4 % Vacation Pay or 10 Business Days of Paid Vacation

Job Duties:

• Supervise Joy Farm Market’s cashier area and supervise and oversee cashiers and retail staff;
• Assign duties to cashiers and retail staff to ensure an excellent shopping experience for customers;
• Accept and approve payments, process returns and refunds according to store policy;
• Organize and keep track of store inventory, place orders in timely manner
• Handle escalated customer complaints and issues with supplies with courtesy;
• Periodically report to management on sales, merchandising and other staffing matter related to cashiers and retails staff;
• Train cashiers and retail staff and ensure Joy Farm Market’s standards and quality of service are regularly followed;
• Assist with the opening and closing shifts and establishing work schedules as requested;
• Perform cashier or other necessary sales duties as required on a day-to-day basis and sign for deliveries as required;
• Calculate end of day sales, collect cash and reconcile cash with receipts as required.

Qualification:

• Secondary school completion is required;
• Previous retail sales experience as a retail salesperson or sales clerk, cashier, telemarketer, door-to-door salesperson or rental agent is usually required;
• Great communication and time management skills
• Great teamwork and multi-tasking skills
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
