Job Responsibilities:

• Design and plan database structures to meet business requirements.
• Install, configure, and upgrade database management systems (DBMS) software.
• Set up and configure database servers to optimize performance and ensure security.
• Ensure data integrity, normalization, and optimal performance through effective data modeling.
• Collaborate with developers and system architects to ensure databases support application requirements.
• Develop and implement backup and recovery procedures to safeguard data against loss or corruption.
• Identify and address performance bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as database re-indexing and defragmentation.
• Manage database updates and patches to ensure systems are up-to-date.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand and address database-related requirements and concerns.
• Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.

Eligibility Requirements:

• 2- 3 years' experience as a database administrator or related occupation is required
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field
• Hands on experience with office machines (e.g. fax machines and printers)
• Ability to operate MS Office, MS Windows, Linux, oracle, HTML, JavaScript, Python,
• Up-to-date with trends and developments in database administration
• Familiarity with database design, documentation, coding, MS Office, word processing software, communication software and Spreadsheet
• Effective time management abilities are required to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills along with keen attention to detailed information
• Accuracy and client centric approach are crucial requirements

Location: Mississauga, ON L5N 6J5

Salary: $45.25 per hour / 35 hours per week

Overtime: 1.5 times of gross pay after completion of 44 hours

Vacation Pay: 4% on every pay period
