Job description:
Location: Brampton, ON L6T 4W5
Salary: $28.00 per hour for 35 hours per week
Number of vacancies: 1
Overtime: 1.5 times of gross pay after completion of 44 hours
Vacation Pay: 4% on every pay period
Job Type: Permanent employment
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reads and interprets drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine layout requirements.
- Operates or tends welding machines that join or bond components to fabricate metal products and assemblies.
- Turns and presses knobs and buttons to adjust and start welding machine.
- Enters operating instructions into computer to adjust and start welding machine.
- Stops and opens holding device on welding machine, using hand tools.
- Reads production schedule and specifications to ascertain product to be fabricated.
- Positions and adjusts fixtures, attachments, or work piece on machine, using hand tools and measuring devices.
- Observes and listens to welding machine and its controls to ensure welding process meets specifications.
- Inspects metal work piece to ensure specifications are met, using measuring devices.
- Adds chemicals or solutions to welding machine to join or bind components.
Basic Requirements:
- Successful completion of a Secondary/high school is required.
- Proven experience of 2 to 3 years; as welder
- Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
- Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.)
- Deftness and attention to detail
- Proficient in English
