Specific Skills

• Plan, develop and implement purchasing policies and procedures,
• Oversee the evaluation of the cost and quality of goods or services,
• Authorize and participate in the development of specifications for products or services,
• Manage contracts, negotiate or oversee the negotiation of purchase contracts
• Review and process claims against suppliers,
• Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate daily operations
• Identify vendors of materials, equipment or supplies

Other Qualification

• Minimum of 5 years of practical construction industry experience in purchasing
• Minimum of 3 years leadership experience
• Experience in financial systems and the key supply chain drivers within the construction environment
• Experience in ROP and forecast buying, lean concept methodology an asset
• Candidates must be proficient in using various types of computer software (Word, Excel, and Outlook, and ERP/MRP based systems).
