Job description:
We are looking for a Home Support Worker for a 70-year-old female. Please see the following employment information.
Job Details:
- Salary: $19 per hour
- Hours: 30 hours per week
- The employee is required to be flexible to cover shifts, some weekends. Overtime may be required. Hours will vary from day, night and evening.
- Work Site Environment: Non-smoking, Scent-free
- Work Location: 181 Norton Ave. North York, ON, M2N 4A8
Job Duties:
- Provide bedside and personal care of the senior, assisting with activities such as bathing, dressing, undressing, ambulation, feeding, and medication reminders
- Maintain a safe, comfortable and caring environment for the senior
- Plan and prepare meals appropriate to the senior
- Serve as a companion to the senior
- Have interpersonal skills, including exceptional patience and listening skills
- Perform housekeeping and cleaning duties, such as washing dishes, keeping the room clean, etc.
- Monitor the senior’s condition and keep good communication with the family
Requirements:
- Completion of Secondary (High) School education is required
- Previous experience in the same field and/or previous full-time training in the field will be an asset
- First Aid Certificate; CPR Certificate would be an asset
- Must be able to speak, write, read and understand English
Experience:
Caregiving: 1 to less than 7 months
