Wanted  Pastry Maker

Authentic Portuguese Bakery located in Toronto is looking for one Pastry Maker. Must be able to work weekends, night shift and holidays, and extra hours when needed.

Authentic Portuguese  Bakery

Pastry Specific Skills:

• Prepare a wide variety of goods such as pies, bread, rolls and sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies and cakes and icings and frostings according to Portuguese recipes or special customer orders.

• Decorate pastries using different icings, toppings while using traditional and contemporary designs.
• Prepare Portuguese Dishes during lunch hour according to Portuguese recipes.
• Research constantly new and trendy Portguese recipes to implement at store after approval.
• Create New Portuguese desserts.
• Bake mixed doughs and batters.
• Frost and decorate cakes or other baked goods.
• Assemble Cakes of several layers.
• Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances.
• Prepare special order.
• Operate Machinery.
• Ensure quality of products meets established standards.
• Draw up production schedule to determine type and quantity of goods to produce.
• Purchase banking supplies.
• Inspect kitchen and food service areas.
• Maintain a clean and orderly cooking station and adhere to health and safety standards.

Applicants must demonstrate progressive Portuguese pastry cuisine experience.

You will be required to train apprentice pastry makers.

Requirements:                   1 year to less than 2 years

Terms of Employment: Permanent Position/44 hours per week

Hours of work:                   Continental shift schedule/one day off

Language of work:           English

Salary:                                  From $ 18.00 to $ 21.00 per hour

Location of work:             1205 Queen St W, Unit 3, Toronto, ON, M6K 0B9
