Job description:
Location: London ON N6A 2R5
Salary: $35.25 per hour for 35 hours per week
Number of vacancies: 1
Overtime: 1.5 times of gross pay after completion of 44 hours
Vacation Pay: 4% on every pay period
Job Type: Permanent employment
Job Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software and operating system software for clients.
- Perform Web-server backup and recovery operations
- Set up local area network and connections to the internet, implement network traffic and security monitoring software, and optimize server performance at clients location
- Regular data backups to protect the organization’s information
- Provide technical direction to co-workers on computer and network usage and offer comprehensive advice and instructions
- Design and install well-functioning computer networks, connections and cabling
- Perform troubleshooting to system failures and identify bottlenecks to ensure long term efficiency of network
- Inspect LAN/WAN infrastructure and fix minor or major problems/bugs
- Test and configure software and maintain and repair hardware and peripheral devices
- Evaluate infrastructure performance and find ways of improvement
- Communicating with staff and clients to help set up systems or resolve issues
Eligibility Requirements:
- College/CEGEP is required as the minimum qualification; in computer science and IT or related field.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience required preferably as a network technician or related.
- Proven experience as network technician or relevant position
- Outstanding diagnostic, problem-solving and analytical skills
- Good communication skills
- Good knowledge of LAN/WAN networks, TCP/IP protocols and network technologies
- Hands-on experience with common software and hardware
