Terms of employment: Permanent / Full-Time

Start Date: As soon as possible

Salary: $30.00/ hour for 32 hours per week

Language: English

Education: Secondary (High) School Graduate.  

Experience: 2-3 years of experience in the same or related field.  

Location: 7480 Broadway, Burnaby, BC. V5A 1S4

Main Duties:

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawing and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirement for the construction project.
• Collaborate with other construction professionals, and other trades people, to ensure projects are completed efficiently and according to specifications.
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join wooden materials, wooden substitutes, and lightweight steel and other materials using hand and power tools.
• Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
• Install structures and fixtures such as windows, doors, stairs, molding and hardware, as well as fixtures like cabinets, doors, and trim.
• May need to repair and renovate the existing structure, including replacing parts.
• Survey building locations and levels and ensure safety and compliance.
• Supervise apprentices and other construction workers.
• Estimate costs and materials.
• Be able to supervise 1 to 2 people.

Work Setting: Commercial, Residential

Workers Supervised: Plasterers, Drywall installers and finishers
Work conditions and physical capabilities:
Fast-paced environment; Repetitive tasks; physically demanding; loud noise, May have to lift upto 23 kg (50 lbs)
