About the position: As a Head dispatcher, you will play a key role in supervise dispatching team for overseeing and coordinating dispatch operations of product and shipping movements from the supply location to the delivery location of clients. Regularly, you will coordinate with our clients, suppliers, Drivers, and other trucking companies to manage shipments, Inventory, payment processing, border clearance and load safety requirements.

Position type: Full-time, permanent (40 hours per week)         

Number of positions: 1

Compensation: $30.00 per hour

Overtime: $45.00 per hour after 40 hours per week

Vacation: 10 paid days or vacation pay 4% of gross pay,

Job Protected Unpaid Leave: 10 days for personal emergencies such as illness, injury and certain other emergencies and urgent matters.

Minimum qualifications:

• Completion of post-secondary diploma or minimum 1 year experience as a dispatcher
• Must have at least one year of dispatching experience

• Excellent proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal
• Be comfortable in giving directions to team members and receive instructions from the management
• Professional and reliable
• Team player and highly adaptive to working in a culturally diverse environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications, MS Excel, Logistics software, load link, database and Adobe Professional for document processing
• Basic knowledge of document management system
• Previous experience as a dispatcher as asset

Job Responsibilities

• Coordinate, plan and supervise dispatch and logistics operations.
• Supervise and prepare schedules for supply chain workers
• Train and supervise the dispatch team regarding their job duties and policies to enhance their ksills and knowledge
• Develop and implement strategies to improve dispatching processes and increase productivity
• Contact carriers, mainly trucking companies and other logistics to booking the necessary equipment to deliver
• Monitor the shipments in transit and assist with any logistical issues to ensure the best customer service
• Coordinate pick-up and delivery schedules for shipments with transporters and other freight- forwarders
• Review documentation such as loading and unloading instructions to the carrier(s) and supplier(s)
• Review schedule, customer orders, work orders, routes and requisitions to determine the distribution
• Coordinate and communicate with the client for post-delivery questions or concerns, also coordinate for the sale of future orders
• Carry out annual performance appraisals of dispatchers in the team
