Position Overview

ABC Recycling Ltd. is seeking a permanent and fulltime Scale Supervisor who will be responsible for running the scale and managing the team of Scale Operators to ensure policies and procedures are being followed, assisting with dispatching of our trucking fleet, as well as providing relief to our Office Administrator as required. The Scale Supervisor will be the first line of service for our customers visiting our busy facility. This is position will be based out our 8081 Meadow Ave Burnaby, BC V3N 2V9.

 

Wage:

  • $26-30/hour.

 

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the scale function and manages the team of Scale Operators.
  • Coaches, trains, develops, and manages the performance of the scale team.
  • Assists in conducting performance reviews for Scale Operators.
  • Ensures company policies and procedures are being followed.
  • Resolves customer complaints and implements corrective actions for process improvements.
  • Greets customers and records their relevant information for processing in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Processes customer payment tickets using various payment methods.
  • Prepares paperwork for outbound shipments.
  • Communicates to yard staff via a two-way radio.
  • Answers and directs incoming calls to appropriate personnel.
  • Analyzes service requests from customers to determine the most efficient and effective trucking services.
  • Assists in planning, coordinating, and dispatching daily trucking requirements to internal and third-party carriers as required by facilities (and customers) for local and long-haul requirements.
  • Tracks and monitors all incoming containers for accurate invoicing.
  • Document controls, data entry, and file maintenance.
  • Identifies and grades material, including Catalytic Converters.
  • Builds and updates spreadsheets as needed.
  • Maintains a clean and presentable office environment.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience using POS systems and/or ERP software.
  • 1 year scale experience.
  • 6 months’ experience leading a team of scale operators.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office products, including excel.
  • OFA level 2 or higher.
  • Ability to multitask, work independently, and under pressure.
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Positive attitude, customer service orientation, and a want to help people.
  • Performs other general office duties when required.
  • Prior administrative experience and excellent organizational skills.
  • Language of work is English.
  • Preference is given to candidates with a second language (Punjabi).
