Job Description
• Loading and unloading goods from vehicles.
• Obtain a copy of production schedule or shipping orders and transport materials or equipment to and from designated areas in the facility.
• Moving goods packed on pallets or in crates around the storage facility.
• Stacking goods in the correct storage bay, following stock control instructions.
• Checking to ensure that the loads are secure.
• Stacking empty pallets in an area instructed by the inventory control supervisor.
• Performing daily equipment checks, for example, lubricating equipment, etc.
• Removing machine attachments and waste material from machines.
• Examining products to verify conformance to quality standards.
• Helping to load and unload the vehicles by hand where necessary.
• Performing other warehouse tasks like packing.
• Dumping materials into machine hoppers.
Requirements:
• No specific education requirement.
• Experience is an asset; however, on the job training will be provided.
• High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others; promote a safe work environment
• Follow instructions for operating equipment and keeping records.
• Execute assignments in an accurate, timely, and safe manner.
Physical demands and abilities:
• Frequently lifting up to 50 lbs. and adjusting body position to bend, stoop, stand, walk, turn, pivot, and stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to assess weights and judge distances and heights.
