Transportation/Travel Experience: Local, Long-haul, Provincial/territorial, Regional, Short-haul

Communication Systems Experience: Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment

Documentation Knowledge

Bill of lading, Dangerous goods occurrence reports, Driver logbook, Maintenance and repair reports, Trans-border documentation, Trip reports

Tasks

Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy, Drive lighter, special purpose trucks, Load and unload goods, Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment, Perform brake adjustments, Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle, Perform preventive maintenance, Receive and relay information to central dispatch, Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption, Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo, Transport and handle dangerous goods

Security and Safety

• Driver's validity licence check, Drug test, Medical exam

Transportation/Travel Information

• Valid driver's licence, Willing to travel cross-border

Attention to detail, Handling heavy loads, Large workload, Repetitive tasks, Sitting
