Position Description 

Position: Construction Helper

Type of employment: Full-Time, Permanent

No of positions: 3

Anticipated Start date: As soon as possible.

Work Location: Various locations in Lower Mainland, BC

 

Salary and Benefits 

Salary: $27.50 per hour

Overtime and Vacation Pay

Job Responsibilities 

  • Assist skilled tradespersons at the work site by providing them tools, equipment, and other materials as required and assisting in other activities.
  • Load, unload and move construction materials to and from the work site.
  • Dig trenches, backfill holes, or compact earth to prepare for construction.
  • Installing and dismantling temporary structures, such as scaffolds, barricades, and signage.
  • Remove rubble and debris from the work site.
  • Measure, cut, and assemble construction materials under the guidance of skilled tradespersons.
  • Clean and prepare the surface.
  • Maintain open communication with team members to foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Mix, pour and spread materials as per tradesman's instructions.
  • Make sure that all safety regulations and procedures are always observed.
  • Take care of construction equipment, clean it, and store it in a safe place after work shift.
  • Participate in regular team meetings to discuss progress, address issues, and plan for upcoming tasks.

 

Job Requirements 

  • No prior experience is required; we provide comprehensive training.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Physically capable of lifting and carrying heavy objects.
  • Excellent team player with good English communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.

 

Note: If any of the current employees makes a referral that results in a hire, the company will pay $1000.00 CAD to that employee. Financial assistance for relocation from other cities, provinces or regions will be provided up to $1500.00 CAD for qualified candidates.
