Job description:
K&M Construction Ltd. is looking for 4 individuals for the position of "Construction Laborer" on permanent and full time equivalent.
Positions: 4
Job Duties:
- Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades required at construction sites.
- Mix, pour, and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt.
- Load and unload construction materials, and move materials to work areas.
- Assist tradespersons such as carpenters, bricklayers, cement finishers, roofers, and glazers in construction.
- Level earth to fine-grade specifications using rake and shovel.
- Assist in demolishing buildings using prying bars and other tools, and sort, clean and pile savaged materials
- Remove rubble and other debris at construction using rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows, and other equipment.
- Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction such as mixers, compressors, and pumps.
Employment Requirements:
- Some experience as a general construction laborer is an asset.
- There is no language required for this position.
- This position may require reading and understanding the signs posted on construction site. For eg: reading warning labels on tools or machinery
- As all our workers are Punjabi speaking, it would be an asset for the applicant to speak/understand Punjabi language.
- If needed, we will arrange part-time English classes for the worker at no cost. We will pay the fee for classes
Salary: $23.98/hour and guaranteed 30hrs/week.
Work Location: All over lower mainland Vancouver.
