Overtime:                                        $41.25 (As per provincial standards – for over 8 hrs/day; 40 hrs/wk)

Observed Holidays:                        As outlined on labour.gov.bc.ca – 10 holidays/yr

Job Duties:

• Study project specifications (blueprints, sketches, plans, etc.)
• Inspect equipment and materials to identify potential problems or defects
• Set-up and operate a variety of woodworking machines such as power saws, jointers, mortisers, tenoners, molders, and shapers
• Measure and cut the bases, pedestals, shelves, doors, drawers and tops.
• Cut, trim and/or shape joints to ensure snug fit – use hand-tools such as planes, chisels, or wood files
• Glue, fit and clamp parts and subassemblies together to form complete units using clamps or clamping machines
• May require use of stains, varnishes, or paints involved in finishing the product/assembly
• Clean-up the sawdust, discarded wood and product packaging. Vacuum and dust the work area before leaving each day
