Located in the heart of Kamloops, The Night Shift on 5th is known for its exceptional nightlife experience. We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Chief Security Guard to join our team. As part of the responsibility, the incumbent will be critical in ensuring our team's and guests' safety and security.

Salary and Benefits 

Salary: $24.00 per hour

Job Responsibilities 

  • Coordinate with other departments to create and implement schedules and procedures aligned with overall company goals.
  • Manage work-related issues promptly and provide management with regular updates and progress reports.
  • Recruit and onboard staff, and train them on job responsibilities, safety protocols, and company policies to ensure compliance.
  • Proactively requisition necessary supplies and materials for optimal operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate maintenance and repair work as needed for computer systems, equipment, and machinery.
  • Keep track of performance levels and ensure compliance with quality standards, taking corrective action as necessary.
  • Occasionally assume the tasks and challenges of supervised staff to gain a better understanding of their work.
  • Maintain the safety and security of staff, visitors, and premises by supervising and guiding security personnel.
  • Evaluate security protocols, identify vulnerabilities, and propose improvements on a regular basis.
  • Implement preventative measures to safeguard against potential threats by staying informed about local crime trends.
  • Ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal safety and security regulations.
  • Maintain open communication with management and staff about security and safety concerns, feedback, and suggestions.
  • Establish a professional image for security staff, setting an example in appearance, behaviour, and interaction with visitors.
  • Supervise and lead the team for effective security operations during events and regular business hours.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce security policies, procedures, and protocols to maintain a secure environment for visitors and staff.

 

Job Requirements 

  • Completion of secondary school.
  • Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to interact with guests, staff, and law enforcement personnel.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to guide and motivate a team.
  • Valid security license issued by the appropriate regulatory authority.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills, especially in high-pressure situations.
  • Knowledge of crowd control techniques, conflict resolution strategies, and emergency response procedures.
  • Experience in conducting risk assessments and evaluating security protocols, with the ability to identify vulnerabilities and propose improvements.
  • Demonstrated ability to address and resolve work-related issues quickly and efficiently, and to implement corrective actions as needed.
