Responsibilities
Tasks
- Cut, trim, and otherwise prepare standard cuts of meat and poultry for sale at self- serve or according to customer’s order.
- Grind meats and slice cooked meats using powered grinders and slicing machines as per requirement.
- Weigh meat and tag containers for weights and contents.
- Manage inventory and determine the amount, product line, and freshness of products according to company and customer requirements.
- Ensure that the storage of meat is in a clean and healthy environment.
- Use knives, cleavers, meat saws, bandsaws, or other equipment to perform meat cutting and trimming.
- Adhere to food safety standards and ensure food storage conditions are adequate.
- Shape, lace, and tie meats, poultry, or goat and may wrap or package fresh or frozen, or prepared meats.
