Job description:


  

Three (3) Full time Permanent positions of Long Haul Truck Drivers (NOC 73300) are available at Autolinx Express Inc. located at 375 Market Drive, Milton, ON, L9T 3H5.


Main Duties to be completed as per the lead statement of NOC 73300 :

  • Drive large trucks over long distances, possibly crossing borders.
  • Ensure the long-haul truck or transport truck is safe before leaving.
  • Make sure that the long-haul truck or transport truck is maintained properly.
  • Complete and verify paperwork for accuracy.
  • Pre-inspect truck.
  • Pick up goods and material, verify loads for accuracy, and deliver them as instructed.
  • Responsible for basic vehicle maintenance, complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes at all times.
  • Transport finished goods and raw materials over land to and from manufacturing plants or retail and distribution centers.
  • Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance.
  • Plan routes and meet delivery schedules.
  • Document and log work/rest periods and kilometres spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts.
  • Input report in system for each stage of the loading and unloading process.
  • Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.
  • Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions.
  • Collect and verify delivery instructions.
  • Report defects, accidents, or violations.
  • Documenting the freight's condition before departure and inventorizing loads.
  • Follow instructions; locate and read location and road maps. Planning routes efficiently and delivering freight on time.
  • Communicating any delays due to road conditions, accidents, or breakdowns to dispatchers.
  • Supervising the loading and unloading of freight, and obtaining the client's signature on delivery.

 

Requirements: 

 

Experience: Minimum six (6) months of experience.

Education: Completion of Secondary school.

License : AZ/Class 1 or A

 

Wage rate: $28.40/hour
Hours: 40 hrs/week
