Job Title: Long Haul Truck Driver                              

Number of Positions: 3

Terms of Employment: Full-Time/Permanent

Start Date: As Soon As Possible

Wage: $27.75/Hour (Depending on Experience)

Hours of work: 40-50 hour/week

Location of Work: Various locations across Canada and USA.

Job Duties:

• Load and unload good.
• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
• Perform brake adjustments.
• Perform emergency roadside repairs and preventive maintenance..
• Transport and handle dangerous goods.
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.
• Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle.
• Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment.
• Receive and relay information to central dispatch.
• Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy.
• Taping and ensuring safety and security of cargo.

Transportation/Travel: National, International, Regional, Long-Haul, Travel overnight, travel for extended period.

Type of Trucking and Equipment: Manual and auto trucks.

Education: No formal Education is Required for this position.

Experience: No experience required. Training will be provided.

Credentials: Class 1 or A driver’s license and Air Brake (2) endorsement.

Documentation Knowledge: Driver logbook, Bill of lading, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), Trans-border documentation, Maintenance and repair reports, trip reports, Accident or incident reports.

Language: Basic English.
