Job description:
Artistic Landscaping Ltd. (Corporate Office Address: 18413 Dewdney Trunk Rd, Pitt Meadows, BC. V3Y 2R9) is looking for Landscape Gardener on a permanent and full-time basis.
Job Requirement:
- Completion of secondary school is required
- 1-2 years of experience as a landscape and grounds maintenance is an asset
Language requirement: There is no specific language required to perform as a Landscape Gardner.
You will be responsible for the following job duties:
- To plant and maintain private and public lawns and gardens.
- Visit clients, assess the health of lawns, and apply fertilizer, pesticides, and other lawn care products.
- Use knowledge of horticulture and landscaping techniques to ensure properties are maintained at a high level of quality with close attention to detail.
- Plan and design landscape improvements for different landscape architectural projects, subject to guidance and review by a professional Landscape Architect.
- Assist in the preparation of construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for bid documents, including the design and layout of grading, drainage, paving, irrigation, plant materials, and play equipment systems, subject to guidance and review by a professional Landscape Architect.
- Participate in site analyses, master planning, designing, cost estimating, and related landscape architectural advanced planning projects.
- Review, check, and correct landscape architectural plans and drawings for accuracy and conformance to the original design, and check calculations used in designs and estimates.
- Care for established lawns by mulching, aerating, weeding, grubbing, and removing thatch, and trimming and edging around flower beds, walks, and walls.
- Sprays trees and shrubs and applies supplemental liquid and dry nutrients to lawn and trees.
- Follow planned landscaping designs to determine where to lay sod, sow grass, or plant flowers and foliage.
- Winter pruning of shrubs and hedges, knowledge of light tree pruning.
- Water lawns, trees, and plants, using portable sprinkler systems, hoses, or watering cans.
- Install rock gardens, ponds, decks, drainage systems, and irrigation systems.
- Provide proper upkeep of sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fountains, planters, burial sites, and other grounds features.
- Use irrigation methods to adjust the amount of water consumption and to prevent waste.
- Care for artificial and natural turf fields.
Salary: $28.00/hour, full-time (30hrs/week)
