Position Description

Position: Heating & Cooling Mechanic Helper

Type of employment: Full-Time, Permanent

No of positions: 3

Anticipated Start date: As soon as possible.

Work Location: Various locations in Surrey (BC) and other areas in Lower Mainland (BC).

Salary and Benefits

Salary: $27.50 per hour

Job Responsibilities

• Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of furnaces, heat pumps, air conditioners, and other HVAC equipment.
• Assist with the installation and securement of systems, including mounting brackets and handling electrical connections.
• Assist in the installation, repair, and maintenance of ductwork systems for efficient transmission of heat and cool air.
• Assist with regular inspections and basic preventative maintenance of HVAC equipment.
• Transport equipment, tools, and supplies to and from job sites safely. Ensure the company vehicle is kept clean, organized, and maintained.
• Move equipment, supplies, and other items to appropriate storage or work areas upon job completion.
• Clean and maintain a tidy work area, ensuring all tools and equipment are returned to their appropriate places. Dispose of waste materials in an environmentally friendly manner.
• Assist the lead technician in cleaning, inspecting, and replacing air ducts.
• Follow all safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
• Assist in troubleshooting HVAC systems, using diagnostic tools and gauges, and giving feedback on findings to the lead technician.

Education, Experience and Skills required

• Completion of Secondary School will be an asset but not mandatory.
• No experience required. Training will be provided.
• Proficiency in English language, both written and spoken.
• Ability to use hand and power tools effectively.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and tools.
• Physical stamina to stand, walk, and work for extended periods.
• Manual dexterity for handling tools.
• Willingness to learn and take directions from technicians.
• Attention to detail.
• Willingness to work in various weather conditions, as some tasks may require outdoor work.
