Wage: $22 per hour
Other compensation: Monthly Vancouver public transportation pass (Compass card)
Vacation: 4% in lieu of paid vacation

JOB DUTIES. The following duties will be performed in this position:
• Supervise and care for one young child in the employer’s residence.
• Bathe, dress, and feed the child.
• Plan, prepare, and serve meals for the child and perform other housekeeping duties.
• Oversee the child’s activities, such as meals and rest periods, as instructed by the employer.
• Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home.
• Instruct the child in personal hygiene.
• Tend to the emotional well-being of the child and support her social development.
• Discipline the child according to the methods requested by the parents.
• Provide age-appropriate educational training through organized activities such as games, crafts, reading, and outings.
• Take the child to and from appointments and activities.
• Keep records of daily activities and health information regarding the child.
REQUIREMENTS. The successful applicant will possess, at a minimum, the following skills and experience:
• Completion of secondary school.
• Training program in childcare or a related field, completed or in progress.
• Minimum one year of experience (full-time or equivalent) as a caregiver in a private household.
• Experience working as a caregiver with a child under five years old.
• Non-caregiving experience with children in an educational and/or clinic environment is preferred.
• First Aid and CPR certification.
• Criminal record check is preferred.
• Food safety certification is preferred.
• Flexibility and willingness to work longer hours at the discretion of the employers.
