Job description:


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • All Accounts Payable Responsibilities
  • Process financial transactions in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Check and verify source documents such as invoices, receipts, etc.
  • Process vendor invoices for payments.
  • Reconcile Bank & credit card statements.
  • Review bank activity and prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Assist with payroll and employee benefits.
  • Organize and analyze account data and general financial reports.
  • Prepare month-end Journal Entries
  • Familiar with Inter-company transactions
  • Comply with relevant reporting requirements (GST/HST, WSIB)
  • Assist in audit and year-end preparation for corporate tax return.
  • Maintain complete filing system to support financial records.
  • Assist management with ad hoc audit requests, reports, and process and special projects as assigned.
  • Maintain records related to unionized subcontractors; and send monthly remittance, filing, payments to unions. (e.g., Union dues paid by deductions at source.)
  • Manage inventory of office supplies and place orders as necessary

EXPERIENCE

  • Construction industry experience is preferred.
  • 2 years-experience in accounting
  • Excellent understanding of general accounting principles and procedure
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks (QBD); DEXT Expense Report Tracking software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

  • Strong math and accounting skill
  • Self-starter, professional, self-confident, and organized
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be comfortable working in an entrepreneurial spirited, fast-paced, and changing work environment.
  • Must be able to commute to office in Toronto.

Salary: From $59,000.00 per year
