Kin Kao Song is a group of young entrepreneurs operating an intimate, modern Thai restaurant. We are currently hiring 2 full-time, permanent Chefs for our lunch and dinner service. (We can consider Part-time as well as Full-time applicants)

Job Title: Chef
Work location: 317 E Broadway, Vancouver, BC, V5T 1W5
Wage and benefit: $23.00/hr~$26.00/hr (depending on experience), 30-36hrs/wk, 4% paid vacation.
Overtime: Overtime rate will be provided after 8hrs/day or 40hrs/wk
Education: Completion of Secondary School
Experience: At least 2-3 years of work experience or completion of equivalent in accredited training program for (Ethnic) food
Terms of Employment: Full-time, permanent

Job duties:
-Prepare and cook complete meal course or individual dishes using recipes and food products for Thai food
-Work with the owner to prepare high-quality dishes to keep up with the restaurant standards
-Slightly modify recipes to meet customer’s needs and requests (e.g. reduce sauce, remove allergenic ingredients etc.)
-Prepare and trim necessary ingredients for our menu (such as vegetables, meats, seafood, etc.)
-Prepare and make all the sauces used in cooking
-Ensure food is timely prepared for all service periods
-Participate in menu planning, and determine size of food portions
-Communicate effectively with the department heads in the food services, beverage, related support and operating departments
-Maintain systems and procedures in ordering/receiving stocks, and preparing/serving food
-Ensure that all operations are compliant with sanitation, regulations and safety standards
-Minimize waste to ensure reduce food related costs
-Train and supervise the kitchen staff in order to increase kitchen productivity and assist when it is needed
