Position Description 

Position: Electrician Helper

Type of employment: Full-Time; Permanent

No of positions: 2

Anticipated Start date: As soon as possible

Work Location: Various Locations in Lower Mainland, Greater Vancouver and Vancouver Island

 

Salary and Benefits 

Salary: $28.85 per hour

Job Responsibilities 

  • Move tools, materials, equipment, and supplies to the work site.
  • Assist electricians in installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical equipment, including lighting fixtures, switches, relays, circuit breakers, and communication systems.
  • Cut, strip, and bend wires to the appropriate length, and drill holes to push or pull wiring through openings using hand and power drills.
  • Comply with all safety protocols on the job site, ensuring that the workspace is hazard-free.
  • Clean up job sites, properly disposing of any hazardous materials in compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Assist with testing and inspecting electrical systems to ensure compliance with local and federal electrical codes.
  • Assist with troubleshooting of electrical systems, identifying issues and potential solutions.
  • Provide support in the installation and configuration of electrical wiring for new construction and renovation projects.
  • Assist in the preparation and organization of materials and tools needed for specific tasks.
  • Perform other duties on the work site as instructed, showing flexibility and willingness to do so.

 

Job Requirements 

  • No prior experience is required. Training will be provided on the job.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work with small, precise parts and handle tools with dexterity.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and complete precise tasks.
  • Commitment to all safety standards and protocols.
  • Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, to comprehend instructions.
  • Be reliable, punctual, and willing to learn new skills.
