Job description:

Our family is looking for a Personal Support Worker for a 92-year-old male.

• Salary: $19.00 per hour
• Hours: 40 hours per week
• Work Site Environment: Non-smoking, Scent free
• Work Location: 81 Canongate Trail, Toronto, ON M1V 2R8; Must work in employer's/client's home.

Job Duties:

1. Provide bedside and personal care of the senior including but not limited to bathing, dressing, ambulation, feeding, and medication reminders
2. Serve as a companion to the senior
3. Select and prepare meals for the senior
4. Have interpersonal skills, including exceptional patience and listening skills
5. Perform housekeeping duties such as washing dishes, keeping the room clean, laundry, etc.
6. Maintain a safe, comfortable and caring environment for the senior
7. Keep proper care records and report changes to the family
8. Keep good communication with the family and supervisors regarding the senior’s condition
9. Administer first-aid or CPR to the senior when necessary

Requirements:

1. Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
2. Previous experience in the same field and/or previous full-time training in the field will be an asset.
3. First Aid Certificate; CPR Certificate would be an asset
4. Must be reliable, client-focused, organized with excellent interpersonal skills.
5. Must be able to speak and understand English.
