Job description:
Position: Ethnic Cook (NOC 63200)
Salary: $19 per hour / full-time position (40 hours per week)

Job Duties:
- Prepare a full assortment of Indian Snacks, Sweets and traditional Curries in accordance with the religious and devotional food laws and practices of the Swaminarayan denomination of the Hindu faith,
- Ensure the food preparation areas follow religious, safety and sanitary food handling practices.
- Consult with supervisory staff to plan menus, taking into consideration factors such as costs, special religious event needs, special fasting days and religious festivals.
- Fully adhere and comply to Health and Safety Standards and hygiene requirements in the Kitchen facility
- Estimate expected food consumption; then requisition or purchase supplies, or support in procurement of the raw materials
- Work collaboratively in team environment with local volunteers and staff
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience
- Knowledgeable and understand the religious and devotional food laws and practices of the Swaminarayan denomination of the Hindu faith
- Must be able to work co-genially and respect with other team members and volunteers
- Must be able to multi-task and work in a team environment
- Must be available to work afternoons, evenings and weekends
