Job Description:
We are currently hiring a licensed Electrician to support a wide range of electrical installations, including work related to solar energy systems. The ideal candidate is reliable, safety-conscious, and skilled in both residential and commercial electrical systems.
Job Duties:
1. Install and connect electrical panels, breaker boxes, switches, and controls as part of new builds or system upgrades
2. Replace or repair electrical components when they’re faulty, outdated, or not up to code
3. Work closely with site drawings and blueprints to plan out wiring routes and equipment placement before starting any job
4. Connect wires securely and cleanly, ensuring safe and reliable operation
5. Run surface-mounted or overhead wiring based on project needs, especially in commercial settings
6. Set up low-voltage (30V–750V) systems, including multiphase service connections for properties with more than one meter
7. Install and configure backup generators, solar inverters, and power conditioning systems
8. Test circuits using meters to check for proper voltage, load balance, and grounding
9. Troubleshoot and fix electrical problems, whether it’s a bad connection, a blown fuse, or an equipment malfunction
10. Recommend the right materials and installation methods when working in sensitive or hazardous locations
11. Keep clear notes and simple reports of work completed, including repairs and inspections
12. Supervise apprentices on-site—showing them proper techniques and checking their work
13. Help estimate the amount of wiring, hardware, and other materials needed before starting a project
14. Perform routine checkups on installed systems to prevent issues before they happen
15. Communicate with clients in a friendly, professional way and answer basic questions about the work being done
16. Occasionally lead small installation teams or support less-experienced electricians on larger jobs
Qualifications:
1. Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program or trade certification as a Journeyperson Electrician
2. Valid Alberta Journeyperson Electrician Certificate or Red Seal Certification
3. At least 1 year of experience in electrical installation and maintenance; experience with solar systems is preferred
4. You’ll be working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift quickly depending on the project
5. The role is physically demanding—you’ll need to lift and move heavy materials, work in tight or elevated spaces, and stay active throughout the day
6. A strong attention to detail is essential for accurate installations and safe electrical work
7. You’re client-focused and take pride in providing reliable, respectful service
