Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Metal Worker to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various metalworking techniques and be proficient in operating machinery used in the fabrication and assembly of metal components. This role requires a strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
Duties
- Measure and mark sheet metal according to template
- Prepare tenders and quotations
- Operate metalworking machines to cut, punch, drill, shape or straighten sheet metal
- Operate laser cutters
- Utilize computerized quantity take-off
- Grind and buff seams, joints and rough surfaces
- Schedule work
- Calculate heating and cooling loads
- Design duct systems and select equipment for residential and small commercial construction
- Inspect products to ensure quality and conformity to specification
- Operate plasma cutters
- Develop computerized pattern and layout
- Instruct apprentices
- Supervise other workers
- Cut materials using power tools or by hand
- Assemble, erect and install hoisting and rigging equipment
- Estimate costs and materials
- Operate CADD and other computer software systems
- Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications
- Fit and join sheet metal parts
- Install sheet metal products according to specifications and building codes
