We are currently searching for one experienced Construction Painter.

Work Location:

Various locations in the GTA

Duties:

• Prepare and clean surfaces using methods such as scraping, sanding, drywall taping/patching, sandblasting, hydro-blasting and steam-cleaning; remove old wallpaper and loose paint; repair cracks and holes in walls; and sandpaper and apply sealer
• Repair cracks and holes
• Mix and thin paint to obtain desired colour and texture
• Apply paint or other materials, such as stains, lacquer, enamel, oil, varnish, fibreglass, metal coating or fire retardant using brushes, rollers or spray equipment
• Measure, cut and apply wallpaper or fabric to walls
• Erect scaffolding and swing stages and attach rigging

Applicants must be able to demonstrate extensive with spray finish and wood finishing specializations with graining, marbleizing, staining and glazing.

You will be required to train apprentices.

Work site environment:

• Outdoors, at heights, underground

Credentials:

• Working at heights training 
• Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHIMIS) Certificate
• Fall Arrest protection training course

 Experience and specialization:

• Brush painting
• Roller painting
• Conventional spray painting
• Patterned rollers  

Surface preparation Experience: 

• Drywall taping/patching

Wood finishing specialization:

• Graining
• Marbleizing
• Staining
• Glazing

 Own tools/equipment:

• Tools, Steel-toed safety boots

Weight handling:

• Up to 23 kgs (50 lbs)

 Work conditions and physical capabilities:

• Attention to detail
• Hand-eye-coordination
• Ability to distinguish between colours
• Bending, crouching, Kneeling
• Physical demanding

Terms of Employment:

• Permanent Position/40 hours per week

 Work Experience:

• 3 years to less than 5 years

Hours of Work:

Monday to Thursday from 7 am to 3 pm

Friday from 7 am to 12 pm

Language of work:

English

Salary:

CAD $38.70 per hour, according to the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades.
