Completion of secondary school
Experience:
1 to less than 2 years of relevant experience preferred
Work Setting:
Construction sites, residential and commercial properties
On-site work only – no remote option
Tasks:
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine insulation requirements
Measure and cut insulation materials to required dimensions using hand and power tools
Apply and secure insulation using spraying, blowing, pasting, strapping, taping, and other installation methods
Fit insulation around obstructions and between studs and joists
Install vapour barriers to protect insulation from moisture
Apply waterproofing cement over insulation to finish surfaces
Remove asbestos or urea-formaldehyde insulation when required in accordance with safety regulations
Certificates, Licences, Memberships, Courses:
Not mandatory, but WHMIS or safety certification is an asset
