Job Description
Havana Vancouver is seeking an experienced and dedicated Sous Chef to join our team. The successful candidate will assist in leading kitchen operations, supervise cooks and kitchen staff, develop new recipes, and ensure the highest quality food output. This is a permanent, full-time position ideal for a culinary professional with a passion for excellence, creativity, and strong leadership skills.
Responsibilities
Demonstrate new cooking techniques and use of equipment to cooking staff.
Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food.
Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff to ensure productivity and quality.
Prepare and cook meals or specialty foods as required.
Create new recipes and contribute to menu planning.
Requisition and manage inventory of food and kitchen supplies.
Plan menus and ensure food meets quality and safety standards.
Ensure kitchen cleanliness and compliance with food safety regulations.
Qualifications and Skills
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years in professional cooking, with supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
Languages: English.
