Wage rate: $36.60/hour for 40 hours per week.
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years
Language: English.
Job Duties:
- Designing, baking, and decorating a wide range of pastries, cakes, and desserts as per production requirements.
- Developing new and innovative recipes, as well as modifying existing ones to meet customer needs and preferences.
- Sourcing, selecting, and managing ingredients, ensuring quality and proper storage.
- Monitoring stock levels of baking supplies and ingredients, placing orders as needed.
- Training, mentoring, and supervising junior pastry chefs and kitchen staff.
- Ensuring the pastry station and kitchen are clean, organized, and adhere to health and safety regulations.
- Adhering to established recipes, procedures, and health and safety standards.
- Keeping up with current food trends and developing new techniques and recipes.
- Addressing any issues or challenges that arise in the pastry section.
