Job Description: Barbara Caffe is seeking an experienced and motivated Restaurant and Food Service Manager to lead our front- and back-of-house operations. This position requires a hands on professional who is passionate about food service, team leadership, and delivering a superior guest experience in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure smooth execution of the restaurants operational activities
-Establish and implement policies, procedures, and service standards to ensure consistency and quality
-Determine and develop the type of services to be offered to customers
-Manage staff development through training, supervision, performance monitoring, and coaching
-Create employee schedules and manage staffing levels based on business needs
-Manage inventory and ordering processes, as well as control food and labor costs
-Responsible for ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations and for maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organized work environment
-Respond to and resolve customer complaints in a professional and timely manner
-Co-ordinate and negotiate with suppliers for food, beverages and other necessary items
-Oversee arrangements for catering services, private events, and receptions and held-on site
Qualifications
-Completion of a college or other program related to hospitality or food and beverage service management is considered an asset
-Proven experience in a restaurant or food service management role
-Completion of a college or other program related to hospitality or food service management
-Strong leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills
-Knowledgte of food safety regulations and workplace health standards
-Ability to handle high-pressure situations and resolve conflicts efficiently
-Excellent communiation and problem-solving abilities
-Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
-Smart serve certificate
Physical demands
-Standing and walking for extended periods
-manual handling of materials (eg. lifting supplies, setting up service areas)
-Fast paced movement in a busy kitchen and dining setting
