A full-time permanent position: Specialty Food Chef in Chinese Peking Roast Duck is needed for a restaurant in Yorkdale Shopping Center
Anticipated Start Date: January 16, 2026
Terms of Employment: Full-time (30hr/week), Permanent
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare and cook the specialty food
- Instruct the assigned cooks/kitchen helpers in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of specialty food
- Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to the assigned cooks/kitchen helpers
- Create new recipes of the specialty food
- Maintain records of specialty food costs, consumption, and inventory
- Estimate food and ingredient requirements, specialty food and labour costs
- Requisition specialty food and kitchen supplies
- Arrange for specialty food equipment purchases and repairs
- Plan specialty food menus and ensure specialty food meets quality standards
- Supervise the assigned cooks/kitchen helpers
- Train the assigned cooks/kitchen helpers in preparation, cooking and handling of the specialty food
Requirements:
- High school diploma or above in education
- At least 3 years of working experience in making the specialty food: Chinese Peking Roast Duck
- Language: English
