Location: York, ON M5P 2X9
Salary: $20.00 hourly; 30–35 hours per week
Terms of employment: Permanent, Full-time
Schedule: Day, Evening, Weekend; exact hours to be determined
Start date: As soon as possible

Overview

Asset language: Mandarin (children speak fluent English; a parent communicates primarily in Mandarin—ability to speak Mandarin or confidently use a translation tool is required for effective parent communication)

Education: No degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year

Work site environment: Non-smoking, Scent-free
Work setting: Employer’s home

Responsibilities (Tasks)

• Supervise and care for two school-aged children (ages 9 and 12)

• Tend to children’s emotional well-being and support daily routines

• Assist with homework and educational activities

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks

• Organize games, outings, and recreational activities

• Accompany children to and from school and extracurricular activities

• Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment in the home

• Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties

• Keep records of daily activities and health information as directed by parents

• Travel with family on trips to assist with child supervision when required

• Follow parents’ instructions on discipline and household routines

Experience & Specialization

• Comfortable supervising and engaging school-aged children

• Able to care for multi-aged group of children if needed

Security & Safety

• Basic security clearance

• References required

• Driver’s licence validity check

• Driving record (abstract)

• Drug test

Transportation/Travel Information

• Valid driver’s licence required

• Vehicle supplied by employer or mileage paid if using your own vehicle for transportation of children
