Working closely with the Operations Manager, you will assist in overseeing project schedules, budgets, procurement, and workforce management across multiple sites. Job Responsibilities
- Provide overall direction and oversight of roofing projects, ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, specifications, and safety standards.
- Lead the preparation of project budgets, forecasts, and cost-control measures to support financial performance and profitability.
- Develop project schedules and milestones, monitor progress, and implement corrective actions where delays or variances occur.
- Oversee contract negotiations and manage relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors to secure favorable terms and ensure successful delivery.
- Establish and enforce quality assurance and safety programs across roofing operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory and industry standards.
- Represent the company in client meetings, vendor negotiations, and workforce relations, including subcontractor management and union-related matters.
- Provide regular progress reports and project updates to clients and senior leadership, highlighting risks, achievements, and deliverables.
- Direct the procurement of roofing materials, equipment, and other resources to ensure cost-effectiveness and uninterrupted workflow.
- Recruit, develop, and manage teams of supervisors, subcontractors, and staff, fostering accountability and a high-performance culture.
- Contribute to organizational growth by supporting strategic planning, operational improvements, and long-term business objectives.
- Strengthen client relationships by managing escalations, resolving disputes, and ensuring a positive customer experience.
- Identify opportunities for efficiency through technology adoption, workflow improvements, and cost-saving initiatives.
- Monitor workforce productivity and implement training programs to upskill staff and maintain high workmanship standards.
- Represent the company in industry associations, trade shows, and community events to enhance brand visibility and business development.
Job Requirements
- Relevant education (degree, diploma) or 2-3 years of relevant experience.
- Proven ability to lead teams and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities with demonstrated capacity to prioritize tasks and work under pressure in fast-paced environments.
- Proficiency in interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and contracts, and in providing clear direction to crews and subcontractors.
- Sound problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to address issues proactively and efficiently.
- Familiarity with roofing systems, construction materials, industry codes, and safety regulations is considered a strong asset.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project) and other project management or scheduling tools.
- Knowledge of budgeting, cost tracking, and procurement processes.
- Commitment to maintaining high safety standards and promoting a culture of workplace safety.
- Adaptability, initiative, and a collaborative mindset to contribute to both project success and company growth.
