Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Sous Chef, responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
Assist First Cook in organizing and managing the buffets and Grab & Go preparation as per the menu
Ensure quality and standards are met on a daily basis
Attend the serving line during service hours
Maintain the cold bar during service hours
Ensure proper food handling procedures are being followed
Attend daily toolbox meetings
Maintain positive and upbeat work environment
Positive and congenial attitude when dealing with the guest
Assist in maintaining and controlling inventory, advise the supervisor when items are needed
Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment
Follow all cleaning schedules as directed
Assist first cooks and chefs as directed by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
A culinary diploma or related training may be preferred
STCW Basic Safety Courses
Seafarer's Medical Certificate
Proven experience in kitchen environment
Extensive knowledge of culinary techniques, food preparation, and presentation
Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations and the ability to ensure compliance.
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
Working Conditions:
Constant standing and walking throughout shift
Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50lbs
Frequent kneeling, pushing, pulling and lifting
Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps.
