Job Description
Great Mann Construction Ltd. is a fast-growing general construction company based in Delta, BC operating all over Lower Mainland, Greater Vancouver and Fraser Valley. We have employment opportunity for 02 Ironworkers.
Job duties
• Make, put up, hoist, install, repair and service structural ironwork, precast concrete, concrete reinforcing materials
• Examine structure and equipment for deterioration, defects or noncompliance with specifications;
• Place steel bars in beams and pillars;
• Design, cut and bend sheet metal as necessary;
• Position and secure steel bars or metal mesh in concrete forms;
• Read blueprints and specifications to lay out work; Use details from written plans and instructions from supervisors in order to securely bolt metal structures like beams and columns together
• Load and unload materials with the help of other construction helpers;
• Install ornamental and any other structural metal works, for example: metal stairways, power doors and curtain walls;
• Assemble and to erect prefabricated metal structures;
• Ensure there is proper fitting of all materials;
• Unload and to position steel units thus each piece can be hoisted as needed;
• Ensure sufficient steel reinforcement of any given structure;
• May dismantle structures and equipment.
Skills requirement
• Completion of secondary school is required.
• 3-4 years of work experience or 2-3 years of apprenticeship program is required.
• Ability to walk stands, crouch for long periods of time and carry out strenuous physical tasks.
• Working setting: The candidate should be available to work full-time.
• Requires lifting, pulling and carrying of equipment and other objects
• Candidate should be willing to work outdoors, indoors and all weather conditions.
• Basic knowledge of English is required.

Benefits
As per mutual agreement and BC Employment standards act 4% vacation pay of the gross salary will be paid each pay period with 14 days of unpaid vacation time or option to chose 14 days of paid vacation with no vacation pay with gross salary. Transportation to and from the job location is provided at free of cost in company vehicle.
