Job requirements: apprenticeship or several years of experience in baking, minimum 3 – 5 years of experience as a pastry chef, ability to supervise staff in various areas of responsibility in baking department, ability to work in fast-paced environment with tight deadlines. Personal suitability: initiative, dependability, reliability, team player, flexibility, organized.
Duties: Prepare dough and bake bread, rolls, “lepinja buns” (flat bread ala naan bread), pita, burek (layered cheese/meat pie with special extra-thin Mediterranean style handmade phyllo dough), “gibanica” (layered pastry dish) , “pogacica “(traditional buns) , kolac (traditional yeasted bread) according to Mediterranean (Serbian/Croatian) recipes or special customers’ orders on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions, supervise and instruct baking personnel and kitchen staff in preparation, baking, garnishing and presentation of food. Prepare and bake complete offer of baking goods and specialty foods for events such as banquets, create new recipes.
