Automotive Mechanic ABBY TIRES & AUTO REPAIR LTD Location: Abbotsford, BC V2S 2E4 (On-site only – workshop environment) Salary: $37.00 per hour / 40 hours per week Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time Shifts: Early morning, Morning, Day, Evening (flexible availability required) Start Date: As soon as possible Vacancies: 2

Overview We are a busy, established auto repair and tire shop in Abbotsford seeking certified Automotive Mechanics to join our team. Work in a fast-paced, hands-on workshop environment (dusty, dirty, noisy). No remote work available.

Education & Experience

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years to less than 3 years of relevant experience
  • Required Certification: Automotive Service Technician Trade Certification (Red Seal or provincial equivalent preferred)

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect and test mechanical/automotive units, systems, and components to locate faults and malfunctions
  • Inspect engines in operation and perform road tests on vehicles
  • Review work orders and diagnose issues
  • Adjust, repair, or replace parts in areas including: engine repair/overhaul, electrical/electronic systems, diagnostics, alignment/steering/suspension, brake systems, fuel/emission systems, ignition systems, automatic transmissions
  • Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer specifications
  • Perform scheduled maintenance services
  • Estimate parts and labour costs for repairs/maintenance
  • Advise customers on work completed and future needs
  • Complete detailed reports on problems and work performed

Requirements & Credentials

  • Valid driver's licence (must be able to drive manual transmission vehicles)
  • Bondable
  • Own steel-toed safety boots
  • Strong personal suitability: Accurate, Dependable, Reliable, Team player, Punctual

  • Standing for extended periods
  • Physical demands typical of auto repair shop
