Job Description

HUMBLE NEST DAYCARE Inc. is seeking qualified Early Childhood Educators (ECEs) to join our team in Summerside, Prince Edward Island. The successful candidates will work on site in a child care centre/kindergarten environment and support the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children.

Main Duties

- Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children
- Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs and taking children to local points of interest
- Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
- Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor
- Knowledge of licensing regulations
- Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
- Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children

Education & Credentials 

- College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
- Field of study: Early childhood education and teaching
- Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate

Applicants must hold, or be eligible to obtain, the appropriate Early Childhood Educator certification in Prince Edward Island, based on their education, training and qualifications.
