SKILLS and KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- 1 Year to less than 2 years Experience
- Physically fit to handle the job and require a lot of Bending, kneeling, crouching, work at heights, dusty, cold and hot temperatures, tight deadlines, work under pressure, hand-eye co-ordination, repetitive tasks, standing for extended hours, able to pick up weight up to 45 kg
- Need steel-toed safety boots, hard hat, safety vest and safety glasses
Job Duties
- Erect and install scaffolding, falsework and other working platforms
- Clean and prepare surfaces
- Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners
- Mix plaster ingredients to desired consistency
- Install corner beads and wire mesh around beams to which plaster is to be applied
- Apply, level and smooth coats of plaster using trowel and broad knife, floats, brushes and spraying equipment
- Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints
- Fill joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound using trowel and broad knife
- Finish corners and angles and create decorative designs in finish coat depending on the requirement.
- Cure freshly plastered surfaces
- Mould and install ornamental plaster panels, cornices and trim
- Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry
- Spray acoustic or texture materials over walls and ceilings
- Tape over joints using taping machine and embed tape in compound
