Job description:


A1 Okanagan Electric Ltd. is looking forward to expanding our ever-growing team of Apprentice Electricians to manage our business. A1 Okanagan Electric Ltd. currently wants to hire 2 Apprentice Electricians. This will be a Permanent, full-time position with 35-40 hours per week.

An Apprentice Electrician will be performing the following job duties:

  • Install electrical controls and panel boxes
  • Replace and repair electrical controls and panel boxes
  • Install underground wiring and cables
  • Keep maintenance reports and documentation
  • Splice, join and connect wires
  • Test and measure voltage, loads, ground faults integrity of circuits
  • Troubleshoot and isolate faults
  • Connect power to audio and visual equipment
  • Install surface mount and/or overhead cables
  • Renovate electrical systems in residential and commercial structures
  • Conduct preventive maintenance programs
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications

 

Employment Requirement:

  • No degree, certificate or diploma is required
  • Experience an asset is required
  • English as a language skill is required
  • Work site environment: Outdoor, dusty and cold/ refrigerated
  • Work setting: construction, service, repair, various locations, maintenance, commercial, residential and installation
