Responsibilities
Tasks
- Assist in adjusting, repairing, or replacing parts and components of commercial transport truck systems.
- Confirm findings with the supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace units.
- Discuss repair requirements and completed work with the supervisor.
- Assist in inspecting and testing mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions.
- Review work orders and repair instructions.
- Road test motor vehicles to verify repairs and diagnose issues.
- Assist in adjusting, repairing, or replacing parts and components of truck-trailer systems.
- Assist in repairing or replacing mechanical units and components.
- Assist in testing and adjusting repaired systems to the manufacturer's specifications.
- Estimate parts and labour costs for vehicle maintenance and repairs.
- Perform scheduled maintenance services.
- Test and adjust units to specifications.
- Advise customers on work performed and future repair requirements.
- Complete reports to document problems, repairs performed, and work completed.
- Provide customer service.
